In light of the race for the Best Buy editions of Batman Begins with the Lenticular cover,I thought it might be a good idea to point out some of the alternative packaging that exists out there. As stated already, the Batman Begins edition is already out of print and seems to be a current hot item. You can view some for sale here on this eBay link. One dilemma that may prevent it from becoming "ultra-rare" is that a number of "box only" auctions are cropping up. Does this mean there are alot more cases out there that did not get attached to a DVD set? It seems the entire set is not shrink wrapped, only the DVD itself is.

Another DVD alternative is the The Simpsons - The Complete Sixth Season. We discussed in the forum sometime ago about the ugly packaging. With every box comes a slip of paper that humerously challenges those that dislike the packaging and do not like change. So they offer packaging that is the same as the previous sets. You need proof of purchase (a receipt or clip off some stuff), and then call up a line and go to a website. It will cost you 2.95. I sent for mine. It will take 4-6 weeks.

The next item on the list is the The Muppet Show - Season One (Special Edition). The version that most people see is the flat printed box. A different version (not sure of its rarity or if anyone is even worried about it), is the one with a green felt covering, what some are just plainly calling "fuzzy version". Shopping for a copy myself was not easy and currently unsuccessful. On eBay it is hard to discern as most of the sellers are just using the stock photo which is the non-fuzzy version. Sellers on Amazon also are not discerning the version they are selling.
