As you may notice as of reading this update that the look has been changed. This is part of our upgrading process. I will give a brief summary of some of the changes aside from presenation. First these writings are no longer supprted by Blogger but from Word Press. Along the top are four "buttons" or links to navigate. The home is obvious, it takes you here. Forum will take you to the forum where friends and fellow OOP enthusiasts can meet and chat about whatever strikes you about the OOP world. We are still working on navigating between the forum and the site itself, so realize that once in the forum you need to go the long route back to this page (i.e. retype in the URL - or bookmark it if you have not already). The next button is marketplace. This has ultimately been where the center of our work has been (I say "our" to refer to the web development team of rareoop_dude you see in the forum). While it is in testing mode, we are setting up a means to buy and sell and trade OOP DVD's here. The idea is to present a sort of WYSIWYG marketplace in hopes to reduce or eliminate any chance of bootleg sales. RareOOPDVDs.com will only serve as a moderator and mediator of the postings. Lastly is the "My OOP" which will give your login a personal structure and history, also so that you can post to sell DVD's. There will be more to say about all of these as they happen, but that is the most up to date I can give at the moment. Enjoy the new look. In OOP world itself, some of you may have seen the Factory Sealed Salo Criterion Collection The asking price to buy is $1200.00. Thats quite a price. Anyone who already has everything might not have a problem getting it. I realize many people might be stumped and say to themselves, "We are talking about a DVD here, not a used car." Well, take it or leave it, that is the asking price. This particular seller, however, Talubin, has a good reputation for selling quality Criterion DVD's. I cannot imagine where he gets them all, seeing many of the ones he sells are brand new. But, because of his reputation, I noticed many of the DVD's that sold a little higher were his items. Other Criterion DVD's are showing signs of alertness, such as the Hitchcock DVD's. Wrong Men and Notorious Women has risen above 200.00, while Rebecca has been shooting up near 100.00 by itself. Both, however are available slightly below those prices at Amazon or Half.com. In other areas, I see the DVD The Car is highly sought after, however, the bootleggers have gotten a hold of it and now they are virtually worthless (on eBay at least). An authentic copy on eBay could not get past the 20.00 range nor meet the reserve. The Car Amazon shows that the sellers are more honest with this film, however, the prices are steep. With The War of the Worlds out this weekend, the original DVD has picked up in bidding and price. Lastly, for those that are concerned about all the bootleg copies of Audition out there, you can set your heart at ease because a new edition is soon to be released. Well, that is all for now. You can write to me in the forum or email me at ant@rareoopdvds.com.
