New Yorker Video ceases operations
The news came early last week that New Yorker Films, after 43 years in business, had ceased operations.
Altogether they have released some 200 titles on dvd, culled mostly from independent cinema to foreign and documentary genres. At this point it is not know what will become of their catalogue, though several of their dvds are already showing limited availability. Below is a list of some of the better-known titles (feeling that linking to all 200 would be a bit cumbebersome, not to mention overwhelming).
Here are some of the well-established out of print titles from New Yorker Video:

Own notes:
I Am Cuba was previously released as part of the Milestone Collection from Image Entertainment

Beyond the Rocks stars famous silent-film actor Rudolph Valentino, who seems to have a small but dedicated following. Some of his other oop titles include:

The Inner Life of Martin Frost features the lovely Irene Jacob. If you are not familiar with her, you are in for a treat. A beauty in every sense of the word. Particularly recommend her in The Double Life of Veronique and in Krzysztof Kieslowski's Red (Three Colors Trilogy).
