Official Blogging
Other than that, I want to say that this site is moving and rolling. Some new features which might be evident, but thought I might be redundant and state them anyway. There is to the right of this blog listings of the latest entries into the database. Each should be completed to a certain degree of completedness. That is to say, minimally a photo with a small write-up about the DVD. Beneath that is the most viewed list, which counters the number of hits a movie receives.
You will see some movies get sudden "vieweing boosts" as we continue to work and modify on select movies. So if you see like "Anywhere But Here" suddenly shoot to number 3 on the spot, its more than likely I have been working with the title and people are not suddenly frantic about that film.
Other features you will notice on each page are tabs that we are incorporating. The current tab that works really does nothing and brings you about to the same page. But once the others work, it will make more sense. We are going to be starting a marketplace via classifieds right here so you can buy and sell from select people. It will be a free service with all responsibilities from the sellers and buyers. Methods of payment will be through PayPal or some similar venue. The other link of Amazon will be a direct link to Amazon and that particular item.
Also, as you will notice is movies will also be displaying prices that give the prices people are estimated to pay for new and used copies of OOP DVD's. These will be updated periodically and some will have more activity than others. The prices are based on averages, not the most or least, but the average price people spend on a particular DVD.
Lastly, you will notice that a movie like Salo has a lengthy article about the DVD and all its variants and bootlegs that have trailed it. While every DVD will not receive such special treatment for some time, it is our goal to have at least knowledge of the DVD's that are listed. This might include variations, information about cases, in-print vs. out of print, or general information like what was included in a brand new item (i.e. any ads), etc.
While there are many DVD's that are particularly hot and exciting and even rare than some listed, we are currently working as fast as humanly possible in the time frame allotted. This is a friendly service that I enjoy doing and want to make it fun and informative for all of us. Much I am still learning as I am faced with various questions and dilemmas about types of DVD's, real or otherwise. So I ask for some patience and with it, some excitement for each bit of information that gets displayed. There is a forum to post any question, thought, curiosity or just to have fun. So join in and blog.
