The RareOOP Marketplace is now officially open. I know we have mentioned this in the past, but as of now, it is up and running. You need to set up an account in order to buy or sell on the marketplace. You may need to set up a PayPal account also, as the buying and selling is done via PayPal service. The Marketplace is designed to weed out the bootlegging and asian imports. The focus will be on Region 1 DVD's (and to some limitation, Region 0). Sellers who want to sell on the site will have their items approved based on the item they sell, with some discerning (i.e. Salo Criterion Collection at $50.00 will be in question). To sell in the Marketplace, you must buy a listing. Fees are only to post, not to sell. We are not taking any selling fees, other than what PayPal takes. The fees to post are relatively cheap. One posting is .75 cents, while it becomes cheaper as one buys more at a single time. We are currently limiting the amount to buy at one time to avoid huge stores to settle in, also to manage the site better. We will be highlighting the Marketplace regularly in the podcast and pointing out some particular DVD's in the site. We will mention the seller as well in the podcast. In other News, it has been noted in the RareOOP Forum that the The Simpsons - The Complete Seventh Season (Collectible Marge Head Pack) is limited in number versus the Simpsons regular release of the set. Does this mean it is hard to find? More than likely it will be readily available. I did not see it at the Borders I went to, but I have seen plenty on eBay and Amazon offers it as well. On the other hand, the Alternative Box cover to The Simpsons - The Complete Sixth Season may prove to be more valuable if the offer is limited and not everyone turns in their request to get one. Worth getting for free ($2.95 shipping).
